Football Manager 2014 – Networked Career Update (before the updates!)

We left off at the end of Season 2 – with Dagenham losing in yet another playoff final, and Morecambe falling away in the second-half of the season and finishing 19th, having been 5th after 17  games.

Since then, a total of 5 (!) more seasons have been played – and needless to say rather a lot has (and hasn’t) happened:

  • There have been multiple promotions, close calls and relegation battles
  • New club legends have been born, and players have been poached from each other’s clubs
  • Boards have refused to do anything remotely sensible, and have in fact gone out of their way to hinder progress
  • Only teams FM somehow realises we hate have been interested in our services as manager
  • More own goals and keeper errors than you can shake a very large stick at
  • Multiple signings of players based purely on their (ridiculous) names

But most unbelievably of all, Arsenal have won a trophy (the prestigious Europa League…twice!) and David Moyes is still manager of Man Utd. Wonders never cease.
